The selected ravings of a most peculiar young man.

The geek is strong with this one.
I just got back from LAN gaming with Jason and Nate. We played Battlefield 1942. It was fun.

Must undergo self-improvement. Must better myself.
I need to (a) learn to play the guitar (b) learn to draw better (c) work out more often (d) practice martial arts more intently (e) do better at school (f) acquire gainful employment (g) keep a tidier and better decorated apartment (h) eat better (i) take better care of myself, in general (j) get over this whole low self-esteem thing (k) get an idea of what I want to do and (l) what I really want to study in college (m) read more (n) watch more substantial movies and tv shows, less mind-numbing ones (o) get a better wardrobe (p) be less neurotic (q) be more outgoing (r) be less passive-aggressive (s) be more careful with money (t) don't give in to inertia (u) don't always take the easy route (v) do something.
That's not so bad a list, right? Doable stuff. Although some of those have probably been on there for the better part of a decade, so its hard to keep an optimistic outlook. Hmm.
(w) keep an optimistic outlook.
Sometimes, I feel like this.

I'm waist-deep in irony. It's hilarious.
I had another one of those "be careful what you wish for" moments today. I think I should just stop wishing for things so the universe would just run out of ammunition for things to give me in perverted form.
Last week, I complained about a class in which the professor was very non-interactive, pure lecturing, unreceptive to questions. Today, he was much better, but spent about a third of the hour and fifteen minutes talking to one student who disagreed with Sartre but could come up with no better argument for his position than that Sartre's was "ridiculous." A little relativism (or at least open-mindedness) goes a long way, I've learned. It also helps to keep you from being an obstinate asshole, like this guy was.
Come on in, the irony's fine!

You want to take a geek test? Okay, here goes.
Have you ever ignored the things you should have or could have done in order to sit at home with a book about either the Kasparov/Deep Blue or the Fischer/Spassky chess matches and play through them on a computer chess game yourself?
If not, then I'm geekier than you.
