The selected ravings of a most peculiar young man.

A famous, syndicated cartoonist has just stolen an idea from the webcomic community!
Scott Adams, writer of Dilbert is doing a guest artists week. To me, that's funny.

Oh, Canada!
And on a much less interesting or important note, I passed my hapkido belt test as well.

I just got my green belt in Tae Kwon Do. Since I've been all the way through the belts of a different system, this should come as no surprise, and not much of an accomplishment, really.
The thing that troubles me is how difficult this was. I got a side-stich half way through and my arms are aching right now. Granted, I didn't eat as well today as I should have, and I didn't really stretch out or warm up much, but still - this shouldn't have taken so much out of me. Disconcerting, indeed.
The good part was after the real test, there was an optional board break which everyone did because it didn't affect the outcome of the test at all. Being orange belts, everybody (except me) had never done this kind of thing, never even practiced it before. They were kind of milling around and not doing anything except emitting this aura of nervousness. So I ask my board holders to set up, take two practice kicks and go right ahead.
*crack!*
See? Easy, guys. And then everybody starting going at it, and doing it too. That part makes me feel good. I learned that it's a lot mental, but there's also a good deal of strength. It's a lot easier to break boards now than it was when I was 11, if only because I'm a hundred and fifty percent as heavy. Just throw a leg out there, and it goes.
And now I review for Japanese history midterm.

Reading J.P. Sartre's Being and Nothingness makes me feel like I haven't slept in days, and vice-versa.
I just did both.
If anyone wants to prove to me that you exist, feel free. Right now, I have no way of knowing that my transcendental ego isn't just constituting the entire "reality" of everything I perceive.
Mu-mon, here I come... and there I go.

Here's the lesson for today:
Do not do arm curls with 25-pound dumbbells while watching South Park. Suddenly laughing, losing concentration, and dropping an enormous weight onto your bare foot is a bad thing.
Now you know - and knowledge is power!
